Face your storm
I had the pleasure of having a delightful lunch with a dear friend of mine the other day at a very nice restaurant. We had the best time chit-chatting and sharing things that were on our hearts. Not only did we enjoy a great meal, but just relaxing and enjoying life made the two of us giggle and kick up our legs underneath the table. Our waitress told us to please continue to enjoy our watermelon sangria, but to be mindful that a storm was headed our way. I glanced over my shoulder out of the window and saw a looming cloud approaching. We giggled some more and before we could pay and gather our purses, the sky opened up and gave birth to an abundance of rain and wind. We hurried to the foyer but it was too late. The storm was there in all it’s glory. I thought about all the packages I had on the back of my truck and I said to my friend that I had to get out there and rescue my items. She stayed behind, but I opened those doors, looked up in the sky and decided that I was going to take a chance, knowing that I would get soaked. Once I got out there in the rain, I discovered that, it wasn’t as bad as it seemed while I was in the building. I was able to get to my truck and make my way home.
In life we dread the storms that take us by surprise from time to time. Everything can be going along fine and then you find yourself in the midst of chaos, but we have nothing to fear. We have to brave the elements knowing that we may get wet but we will get to where we need to go. I have found many times that once I brave what has presented itself to me, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
Stand in your storm and continue to go forward. You will have to take what comes with it but if you trust your Creator, He will protect you on your journey. He never told us to shrink back from adversity. If God be for us, who can be against us!
