HopeHealth managers amplify leadership skills through Coker University program
Coker University has partnered with HopeHealth to provide healthcare leaders with integral management and leadership skills via a new training program called Seminars for Success.
The signature program, started in 2021, has offered professional growth and development to more than 90 HopeHealth managers to date in Hartsville.
As HopeHealth continues to experience rapid growth, while providing integrated health services to more than 50,000 patients, its senior leadership team understands the importance of building its culture of excellence and promoting lifelong learning among its managers and leaders in the organization. They found a strong fit with Coker University’s Professional and Continuing Studies Program, which builds partnerships with regional employers to identify and address their most pressing workforce needs with customized training workshops and certificate programs.
“I had the opportunity to experience this leadership training firsthand as a member of the initial cohort,” said HopeHealth Chief Executive Officer Carl Humphries.
“Coker’s business professors do a great job balancing actionable content, interactive discussions, and hands-on exercises relevant to our day-to-day decision-making at HopeHealth. I can already see the positive outcomes of these training workshops spreading throughout the organization in just a short period of time.”
Coker’s business faculty and HopeHealth’s organizational training team work together to design and implement a customized, two-week, cohort experience: ¬
_ A six-hour Fundamental Skills Workshop focused on acceptance of feedback, customer orientation, organizational culture and values, performance management, and professional integrity ¬
_ A six-hour Advanced Skills Workshop covering business acumen, influence, listening skills, problem-solving/decision-making, and team skills
