Expanded Playground at Byerly Park open The City of Hartsville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the opening of the new expanded handicapable playground on the campus of Byerly Park. The playground is located between the tennis courts and the track and field area. This new and improved playground is an expansion of Garrison’s Place, previously located just outside of Neptune Island Waterpark. The update and relocation of this equipment provides many opportunities for children of all abilities to play together.

Darlington County First Steps Darlington County First Steps is hosting a diaper drive through February 28th. Locations accepting diapers include: Coach TB Thomas Center, Darlington County First Steps, Darlington County Health Dept., Darlington County School District, Darlington County Library, Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce, Hartsville Memorial Library, Lamar Library, Mutual Savings Bank, One Touch Transformation and Society Hill Library.

Democratic Women of Darlington Co. Trailblazer Luncheon The Darlington County Democratic Women are on the move, as they kick off their Second Annual Women’s History Month Trailblazer Award Luncheon on Saturday, March 2nd beginning at 12 noon at Jerusalem Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 301 S. 6th Street.
